Posted

Roxy Therapy Dogs recently elected Rachel Holler as board chair and Phyllis Mikolaj as vice chair for the 2024 term.

Holler is the assistant executive director at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU). Formerly, she was program director and director of secondary programs for the Quakertown Community School District as well as Middle and High School Principal in the Norristown Area School District.

Holler has served on the Roxy board of directors since 2019 and chairs the Professional Development Committee. She lives in Montgomery County with her husband, Adam, and two children, Lily, 12, and Logan, 10.

Mikolaj recently retired from MetLife, having worked there for 40 years holding various executive leadership positions. She has been an active Roxy volunteer for 10 years and is director of elementary reading inspiration and student specialized support programs.

In addition, Mikolaj has three therapy-certified English cream golden retrievers (Anya, Katie, and Sydney) and visits children in Central Bucks School District schools with them. She also consults with several breeders on her therapy dog work.

Roxy Therapy Dogs is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, donation-dependent organization with 70-plus dog and handler teams and six programs that bring the support and comfort of therapy dogs to children in Central Bucks School District schools, health care facilities, the courthouse and trauma situations.
