Roxey Ballet hosts community auditions for “Cinderella”

Posted

Roxey Ballet will hold community auditions for its spring production of “Cinderella,” part of the “Children’s Classic Stories” repertoire for which the company is known.

The fairy tale features an unforgettable score by Sergei Prokofiev, original choreography by Mark Roxey, stunning costumes, sets, and masterful lighting. After being tormented by her wicked (yet comedic) stepsisters, Cinderella is treated to a royal transformation courtesy of her Fairy Godmother, resulting in the meeting of her true love at the ball. The performance is for viewers of all ages.

Auditions will take place Saturday, Jan. 21, beginning at noon, and dancers ages 4 and older are eligible. Online pre-registration is required prior to Jan. 20; walk-in registrations will not be accepted. Rehearsals will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. For information, including how to register, age-specific audition times, and requirements for participation, visit roxeyballet.org/auditions. The location for the auditions is the Roxey Event Center, 46 N. Sugan Road, New Hope.
