Posted

Ronald Felix Cadic, of Washington Crossing, Pa., died peacefully, surrounded by family, with the sun streaming through his window at Heritage Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on April 16, 2023.

Ron was the son of Felix and Julia Cadic of Trenton, N.J. Ron attended Holy Angels primary school and graduated from Trenton High in 1959. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Rider College in 1963 and was an active brother at Theta Chi fraternity.

Ron was lucky to meet Thyra Thomas while he was working at Donnelly’s men’s clothing store in downtown Trenton. They wed in 1964. For 59 years, Thyra was steadfast and the greatest wife/partner he could have had.

Ron started his career in the plastics industry in 1969 at American Cyanamid. He pursued his entrepreneurial dream with his brother-in-law, Bill Thomas, establishing Trident Plastics Inc., first in Hatboro, Pa., then moving to Ivyland, Pa.

Ron lived for making summer memories on Long Beach Island, N.J., with extended family. Ron’s father, Felix, was an avid fisherman who passed his love of the ocean and the Jersey Shore to his son. Ron was a memorable mariner, earning the moniker Captain Chaos as he terrified his crew and unwitting sailboats on Barnegat Bay. His love for the sea is shared by his children, who both continue the family nautical tradition.

Ron enjoyed playing golf with friends and customers, and traveling the world with his wife, Thyra, and his beloved cousins, Frank Cadic and David Cadic, and their wives, Nancy, and Georgia. Ron dedicated his life to providing for his family and his legacy is among countless memorable stories.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Thyra, his children Kristin (Randy) Vogel, Dean (Marianna) Cadic, grandchildren, Dean Jr., Leon, Julia and Elsie, and grand dogs Pearson and Missy. Also surviving are his brother-in-law and business partner, Bill Thomas, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron lived with frontotemporal dementia for 13-1/2 years, and survived a period of major depression. The family requests donations be made in Ron’s memory to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at www.theaftd.org and NAMI Bucks at www.namibuckspa.org for the work that they do in the community to serve individuals living with mental illness.

Internment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery and a memorial service will be private.
