Robert "Bob" William Conover

Posted

It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” William Conover announce his passing on September 20, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife Debbie; son Joshua; daughter Megan (Santo) Armano, mother Betty; brother John; sisters Barb Bowe and Susan Bond; nieces Kadie (Evan) Kilgore, Sarah Bond and Anna Boyskey; mother-in-law Patricia Lester and mother of his daughter and former spouse Judy. He was preceded in death by his sister Lisa (Chuck) Hemberger and father-in-law Joe.

Bob was born on July 13,1952 and grew up in Hightstown, NJ on a farm with his mother and four siblings where he developed a strong work ethic and love of family that he carried with him through his life. A true renaissance man, he enjoyed time running swim clubs, a long and storied restaurant career from dishwasher to owner, and a switch later in life to the trades where he found a passion and talent for the artistry of masonry.

Much of Bob’s adult life was spent in the Delaware River Valley of Pennsylvania, though the French Quarter of New Orleans will always be his true hometown. Here, his cherished daughter Megan was born and later he would meet his soulmate and wife of 31 years, Debbie and become a loving father to her son, Joshua. In recent years, Bob resided in northern California spending time with Debbie’s family and continuing his commitment to helping others.

The full moon shone bright the eve of his departure, a fitting tribute reminding loved ones of his celestial spirit and charm. Bob deeply loved family, friends and nature and will always be remembered for his special gift with animals. Bob’s resolve to ‘live forever’ must now be maintained by those he left behind, with memories of his passion for living and many stories of his life.

Bob will be honored with a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 30th at 2:00 pm at the VFW in Hightstown, New Jersey. The family requests attendees remember Bob by considering a Hawaiian shirt as attire. If you have any stories or pictures to share, please send them to meganarmano@gmail.com for inclusion in the celebration.
