Robert F. Smith

Robert “Bob” F. Smith, 82, of Upper Black Eddy, Tinicum Township, Pa., passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at his home.

Bob was born and lived in Philadelphia, Pa., until he was 10 years old. He then lived in Hilltown, Pa., until serving in the Army, before settling in Upper Black Eddy, Pa., where he lived for many years. Bob graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1958. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for H&K Materials in Skippack, Pa., for over 50 years. Bob was an outdoorsman and he especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and deep sea fishing. Bob was a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid reader. Bob was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Son of the late Robert W. and Elizabeth (Burns) Smith, Bob is survived by his four brothers William J. Smith (Bonnie) of Zionsville, Pa., Joseph P. Smith (Tom) of Titusville, Fla., Michael J. Smith of Chalfont, Pa., and Matthew P. Smith (Sherry) of West Chester, Pa., and his two sisters Elizabeth C. Ansbro (Peter) of Novi, Mich., and Susan L. Smith of Hilltown, Pa. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean G. (Seidel) Smith in 2022, his brother Stephen J. Smith (Adele), and his sister Mary Jane Rydzewski (Joseph).

The family wishes to thank Bob’s Upper Black Eddy friends and neighbors for their kind assistance.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, N.J.
