Richard F. Keiser of Doylestown died peacefully at his home, Saturday, September 4th, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.
Born in Philadelphia, Richard “Rick” was the devoted husband to Suzanne W. Keiser, the son of the late Richard C. and Dorris M. Keiser, brother of Diane Kahmar and the late Robyn Stahl.
He was preceded in death by his dear son James C. “Jamie” Keiser.
In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Richard is survived by his two sons: Richard J. Keiser and his wife Jennifer and Christopher B. Keiser and his wife Kara, and his grandchildren Richard C., Connor J., Carter B., Charlie M., William C., and Ava J. Keiser.
Born in Philadelphia on July 2, 1947, Rick graduated from Lincoln High School and entered the U.S. Marine Corp from 1966-1972. While serving he married Suzanne on April 30,1968 and went on to welcome three sons.
As the founder and President of Progressive Sheet Metal Inc. in 1976, Ricks unparalleled work ethic and passion for his trade, garnered him the highest respect in the industry from his peers. The family business which includes his wife and son Rick, is one of the most dependable sheet metal contractors in the Delaware Valley.
Ricks enthusiasm for the outdoors and spending time with his family was even more impressive, leaving little idle time. From treating his sons to years of water skiing on Lake Harmony, snow skiing the icy east and powdery west, to being the self-appointed chair reserver at the beach, he loved being an active father. In his later years he enjoyed tennis at the Racquet Club, Friday night poker with his buddies, and walking local car shows as a tribute to his younger years of riding his Harley and driving his ’61 Corvette.
His grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy, and he perfectly executed the role of “Pop”. He attended countless sporting events and school activities. Ricks unconditional love created a special bond with each one of his grandchildren, and even his grand puppies. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A private service was held for the family on September 8th, 2021. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations in his memory be made to the Travis Manion Foundation, 164 E State Street, Doylestown, Pa. 18901.
