Republicans, Independents need to step up in New Britain Borough

Posted

At present we have a one-party state in New Britain Borough. Democrats occupy all 7 borough council positions. A government is often ill-served by the concentration of political power in one party’s hands, regardless of which party holds it. Political leaders frequently run amok when power is concentrated in the hands of one party. We have witnessed this many times at the federal, state and local level. Unchecked power pushes parties to excess regardless of which party is in power. It is an inherent part of both human nature and the nature of government. In recent years we have witnessed this in New Britain Borough. Most people prefer balance in their government, which is what we need in New Britain Borough. This fall four council seats will be up for election. I am calling on the Republicans and Independents in New Britain Borough to step up, get involved and help fill those seats.
