Remember D-Day as the death knell for fascism

Posted

On June 4 a lifetime ago, the Battle of Midway turned the tide in the Pacific. On June 6 two years later, the D-Day landing in Normandy was the death knell for fascism.

Through a combination of heroism and good fortune, we prevailed in difficult times against violent authoritarian forces. This June, the Jan. 6 committee will hold hearings to disclose details of a plot to overthrow our duly elected government.

We hope we will prevail again, this time against forces from within, and our democracy and way of life will be preserved a bit longer.
