Registration on now for High Heel Drag Race in New Hope

Posted

Join New Hope Celebrates as it kicks off its 17th annual High Heel Drag Race at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, on West Mechanic Street in New Hope.
A long-standing tradition and highlight of the fall season in New Hope, this year’s theme is Hallow Queens & Glamour Ghouls.
Hosted by New Hope’s very own Miss Pumpkin, race participants are dressed in costumes and wear 3-inch or taller high heels. Runners will carry a pumpkin up the hill on West Mechanic Street, decorate the pumpkin and race back down the hill. This is an all-inclusive event, representing New Hope’s diversity and acceptance of all.
“We were not able to hold this event in 2020, so we’re excited to see our community come together in a safe manner to celebrate all the ghouls, goblins and ghosts in New Hope,” said Matt Hanson, president of NHC, “It’s going to be a fun afternoon of heels and costumes.”

There is a $25 nonrefundable registration fee required in advance and limited to the first 15 people. All participants should arrive at 2:30 p.m. to check in. All proceeds go to New Hope Celebrates. The event will be held rain or shine.
