R/C Richland Crossings Movies 12 to open March 1

R/C Theatres Management Corporation, a fourth-generation, family-owned business headquartered in Reisterstown, Md., will open its latest theater complex, the Richland Crossings Movies 12, at 185 N. West End Blvd. in Quakertown on Friday, March 1.

This will be R/C Theatres’ 14th location and the seventh in Pennsylvania. The rest of the theaters are in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

The Richland Crossings Movies 12 is a 40,000-plus square foot, free-standing complex with newly renovated auditoriums, featuring many amenities, including: luxury heated recliner seats, two premium large-format auditoriums, laser projection for a crystal-clear picture, Dolby surround sound, huge screens, and an expanded snack bar serving several hot menu items in addition to favorites like freshly popped popcorn, soft drinks, and candy.

The location was previously operated by Regal Cinemas and has been closed since July 2022.

The large-format auditoriums will feature R/C’s own branded large-format experience, RCXtreme (RCX), which provides totally immersive sound.

RCX boasts a 28- by 50-foot wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screen; Dolby Atmos sound with 42 discrete channels of audio and up to 13,920 watts of amplifier power; 4K laser projection and “ButtKkickers” reverberating seats, with 141 individual low frequency audio transducers, one in each seat, providing up to 10,800 watts of amplified low frequency audio.

“We are very excited to add another location of R/C Theatres in Pennsylvania with this beautiful theater complex in Quakertown. We strive to provide an immersive movie-going experience for our customers, and we hope that everyone enjoys the comfortable seats, the latest technology in projection and sound, as well as the large variety of food and drinks from our concessions area.” said Scott R. Cohen, president and CEO of R/C Theatres.

In addition to Hollywood releases, the theater will offer special programming events from Fathom, as well as concerts and other alternative content. Other amenities include reserved seating, online ticketing, Bargain Tuesday, and discounts for children (11 and under), seniors (60+) and active military members.
