Princeton Boychoir celebrates 5th anniversary with world premiere

Posted

Princeton Boychoir’s fifth anniversary season will culminate with a gala concert, “Brothers, Sing On!” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Trinity Church in Princeton, N.J.

Audiences will hear selections from all three choirs that make up the region’s premier training and performance choir for boys.

The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of a newly commissioned choral work by nationally and internationally known conductor and composer Rollo Dilworth. A new arrangement of the spiritual “Ev’rything’s Gonna Be Alright,” the piece truly captures the feelings of hope the choir feels moving forward out of the pandemic and into the future of this organization.

The anniversary season has been marked with milestones from appearing with Michael Bublé in his 2021 NBC special, “Christmas in the City” to a return to in-person concerts for the first time in 18 months. This summer, the choir will make its international debut, performing concerts in Prague and Vienna.

Tickets and information can be found at WestrickMusic.org/Boychoir.

The Boychoir is a program of Westrick Music Academy, home to Princeton Boychoir, Princeton Girlchoir, and other music education programming for musicians from kindergarten through adulthood. The choirs are currently scheduling auditions for the 2022-2023 season of the Boychoir and Girlchoir. To learn more or schedule an audition, visit WestrickMusic.org/Auditions.
