It’s been nearly four years since Puck Live closed, leaving a noticeable void in Doylestown’s music scene. To the delight of many, the popular music venue, at 14 East Court Street, will swing back into action under new management Nov. 11.
In collaboration with Puck’s owners, Bill and Lynn Goldman, and the Doylestown-based Daisy Chain Events, the creation of Joe Montone and Sean McGuinness, the popular basement-level space will be hosting live concerts, dance parties and comedy shows, said Montone, in a release. The intimate space will also be customizable for private or corporate events.
“It’s time!” said Lynn Goldman. “Live music in Doylestown is missed and Joe Montone, a local Our Lady of Mt. Carmel grad, has spent his own time volunteering over the years bringing concerts and live music to several causes in our borough and township,” she said.
“As for Sean McGuinness, we fell for him at our first meeting. He is the business side of the team that also deserves full credit. Together, those two guys are the perfect representation of Doylestown. Generous, hard-working, informed and appreciative. They have volunteered enough. Time to repay their kindnesses. Support their effort to bring back live music. I know they would appreciate it,” she added.
The Goldmans also partnered with Montone and McGuinness to open the pop-up beer garden, The Garden Bar at Puck, on the business' outdoor patio this spring and summer.
“One thing we learned from the Garden Bar,” said Montone, “is that everyone in this town misses the indoor music venue. After producing concerts for over 12 years in Doylestown, it is an honor to have the Goldman’s trust and support in giving the venue new life.”
