Polinchock’s bill to allow safe real estate transactions headed to governor’s desk

Posted

Legislation to authorize the resumption of safe real estate transactions is on its way to the governor’s desk, said state Rep. Todd Polinchock (R-144), who authored the measure.

“I cannot thank the members of the House and Senate enough for responding to this issue with urgency and recognizing it as the true crisis it is.” Polinchock said. “It is well past time we give the people of our Commonwealth back the access to housing, which never should have been taken away in the first place.”

House Bill 2412 would require the secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development to issue a waiver to the COVID-19 Business Closure Order to allow all real-estate-related activities that can adhere to social distancing practices and other mitigation measures defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“I urge the governor to sign this bill into law so our real estate professionals can return to providing housing under safe conditions,” Polinchock said.

The legislation now awaits the governor’s signature to become law.
