Phyllis Haas

Posted

It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Haas shares the news of her death, which occurred on May 11, 2022.

Phyllis was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1925 to Charles and Martha Rokuson. She and her husband Morton moved to Lambertville, N.J., in 1951, to work side by side in their business, Stanley Cleaners. After retiring in 1985 they divided their time between homes in New Hope, Pa., and Venice, Fla. They moved back to Pennsylvania in 2009.

Phyllis was an avid Bridge player and a fastidious homemaker. Friends and family were always welcome in her homes, and she was known for her fabulous, generous hospitality. She and Mort enjoyed life by working hard, leading an active social life, being devoted parents and grandparents, and taking many vacations abroad and in the U.S.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Mort and her brother Jesse. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda Szwedo (Jim) and Robert Haas (Barbara), her grandchildren, Erika and Jesse Kuhn, and Michael Szwedo, and her great-grandchildren, Ozzie Morton and Lydia Jo. She is also survived by her niece Lauri Clarke and her nephew Matthew Clarke.

We extend sincere thanks and appreciation to those at Juniper Village in Bensalem, Pa., for providing such kind care during Phyllis’ last decade of life. Services and interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad, and condolences may be sent to www.faustfuneralhome.com.
