The Eagles Autism Foundation invites scientific researchers from Philadelphia and beyond to apply for grant funding to support basic and clinical autism research, studies concentrating on affected individuals and families, and diverse model systems.
A funding pool of more than $6.2 million – raised by the 2023 Eagles Autism Challenge and year-round Eagles Autism Foundation fundraising efforts – will be allocated to the principal researchers and project managers.
The 2023 Request for Application (RFA) process will fund the following: two-year pilot grants, post-doctoral fellowships, and community grants.
Researchers interested in applying are encouraged to submit a Letter of Intent to the Eagles Autism Foundation by Friday, Aug. 25. The Eagles Autism Foundation will then notify and invite the approved applicants to submit a full research proposal by no later than Friday, Sept. 8. All proposals will go through a thorough and systematic review process in December, with approved projects being announced in January.

We are proud to have had the opportunity to fund 83 research projects and community grants since 2018 and hope to support even more through the 2023 RFA process.”
The Eagles Autism Foundation is interested in all areas of basic and clinical research, as well as programs designed to elucidate the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of autism. All research projects will align with the mission of the Eagles Autism Foundation, which is to support the highest quality and most impactful autism research, improve the lives of affected individuals and families, and foster the acquisition of knowledge, technologies, and discoveries that will bring new opportunities in the future.
All research proposals will be fully vetted and evaluated by a scientific advisory board comprised of the world’s most forward-thinking and progressive experts in the field. The independent peer review panelists will be selected based on their areas of expertise and how those concentrations are represented in the research proposals. Dr. Emanuel DiCicco-Bloom, an accomplished biomedical researcher from the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, will lead the scientific review process for the fifth year in a row.
