Peter G. Wood of Pipersville, Pa., died on Sept. 15, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Viktoria Kortschmaryk Wood.
Peter practiced law as a corporate tax attorney for 35 years, starting with the then Coopers and Lybrand accounting firm in Pittsburgh, Pa., and retiring in 2015 from Blue Cross of NE PA in Wilkes Barre, Pa.
He was an avid skier, spending all free days on the slopes in the winter. During the rest of the year he could frequently be seen taking his kayak upstream to the Frenchtown Bridge and enjoying a lazy paddle back.
Peter is survived by his father, John C. Wood Sr. of Newtown, Pa., his brother Robert H. Wood of Solebury and sister Ellen W. Pineno (Steven) and nephew, William L. Hermann of Lambertville, N.J.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law Matthew Finucane of Washington, D.C., niece and nephews Brendan Finucane (Aarti Venkat), Adrienne Finucane (Brian Klein), and Jamie Finucane (partner, Maggie Menditto) … and his grandniece.
He is predeceased by his mother, Ruth L. Wood, brother John C. Wood Jr., and sister Hope L. Wood. Also, by his sister-in-law, Alexandra Kortschmaryk Finucane, his brother-in-law Andrew Kortschmaryk and brother-in-law Peter Kortschmaryk.
