Posted

An officer was injured when a car struck his marked Perkasie Police Department Ford Explorer at approximately 9:29 p.m. Nov. 19.

The police department SUV was traveling north on Arthur Avenue in the area of the Perkasie Library when a southbound Volkswagen Tiguan driven by Cassidy Crawford, 29, of Telford, crossed over into the police vehicle’s lane of travel, resulting in an "offset" head-on collision, Perkasie police said.

The officer was transported by Grandview Hospital Medics to Grandview Hospital where he was treated and released. Crawford was not injured.

As per Perkasie Police Department policy for accidents involving police vehicles, the Pennsylvania State Police from Dublin Barracks responded to investigate the crash.

Crawford displayed signs of intoxication at the accident scene and after failing field sobriety tests, she was taken into custody, Perkasie police said. Charges are pending against Crawford from the Pennsylvania State Police.
