Pedestrian injured in Warrington accident, police seek information

Warrington Police are seeking information about an accident, in which a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle and seriously injured at approximately 7:30 a.m. Oct. 12, on Street Road east of Taylor Avenue.

A Warrington police lieutenant was in the immediate area and arrived on location within a minute. He began rendering lifesaving medical care to a 66-year-old man who lives along Street Road in the area of the accident. The man, who was struck by a vehicle, was suffering with an open head wound and severe head trauma.

The driver of the vehicle remained on location and is cooperating with the police investigation. The accident involving serious bodily injury required a full accident reconstruction, which is why the roadway was closed for an extended period.

Preliminary investigative information points to the pedestrian walking in the roadway at the time he was struck. There are no sidewalks in the area of where the accident occurred.

This accident is still under investigation, and this is only a preliminary conclusion.

As of Wednesday, Oct. 19, the pedestrian was in stable condition at Abington Hospital, but has long rehabilitation road ahead suffering from a traumatic brain injury, police said.
