Posted

The Warrington Township Police Department has promoted Cpl. Aaron Menzies to sergeant and elevated Officer Brian Kelly to the rank of corporal.

“We are proud to celebrate the well-deserved promotions of Aaron and Brian within our police department,” Warrington police Chief Daniel Friel said in a statement. “They serve the people of Warrington Township with honor and dedication and have both demonstrated their potential to grow and continue doing great things for the department.”

Menzies has been with the department for nine years, starting as a patrol officer. For the last three years he has been an Officer in Charge, a supervisory role in his patrol squad. A SWAT officer with the South-Central Emergency Response Team, Menzies is also the Warrington department’s first and only Drug Recognition Expert. A graduate of Bloomsburg University, he previously worked for the Solebury Township Police Department.

Kelly has also been with the department since 2014 and has served as a Federal Motor Carrier Inspector, a Field Training Officer, a South-Central Emergency Response Team Operator and a member of the Bucks County Drug Task Force. Kelly also served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a vehicle mechanic and worked part-time in the Franconia Township Police Department prior to joining the Warrington department.
