Nighttime bridge construction planned on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overhead bridge construction is scheduled at night next week on Rockhill Drive in Bensalem Township for bridge demolition under a project to reconstruct, widen, and improve U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction: Monday, April 8, through Thursday, April 11, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a single lane pattern with intermittent 15-minute stoppages will be in place on Rockhill Drive between Horizon and Mall boulevards.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
