Newtown Business Association elevates commitment to nonprofits

Posted

The Newtown Business Association (NBA) has announced its commitment to prioritizing the support of nonprofit organizations in the coming year.

“Building upon the success of our recently introduced half-priced memberships for nonprofits,” NBA President Dave Marcolla said, “NBA is increasing our focus on being a champion for these integral community members.”

Starting this month, NBA will also implement a revitalized monthly events strategy designed with input from its members. Monthly events provide access to networking, foster relationship-building, and provide ongoing skill-building opportunities. Branded as Rise and Thrive, Lunch and Learn, or Newtown Networking, NBA events will rotate between morning, afternoon, and evening slots. “By changing up the format and time each month,” said Marcolla, “more members will have the opportunity to participate.”

In a demonstration of its commitment to local nonprofits, NBA’s Board announced a special highlight for 2024 – featuring a different nonprofit member each month. These spotlights will come with dedicated fundraising opportunities tied to each event. Monthly Event Co-Chairs Angelo Louridas and Frank Paul Miranda expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “This is a great way to showcase the myriad causes we can all locally support right here in our community.”

For nonprofits serving the Newtown area (or those familiar with these organizations), NBA encourages participation in this program. Nonprofit organizations are urged to sign up for NBA’s special nonprofit membership at www.newtownba.org today, as 2024 event planning is already in full swing.
