New Hope singer to play in benefit concert at Tileworks

Geoff Morgan of New Hope will perform solo and in conjunction Thursday, March 23 at The Tileworks in Doylestown for benefit of The Tileworks.

Door open at 6 p.m., with food available if ordered with your ticket. The Celtic Fireside Concert with Gf Morgan and Hobnail begins at 7 p.m.

During four decades of performing, Geoff Morgan has shared stages with many of the top artists in both Celtic and folk genres. As a seasoned performer, arranger and recording artist, Morgan is known for engaging the audience with ballads, sea chanteys and instrumentals as well as original music of his own composition.

Introduced to music at an early age, Morgan, whose heritage from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England, studied both classical music and folk song and is self taught on guitar, concertina, mandolin and cittern.

In the 1990s Morgan was instrumental in forming the bands Mollyhawkes, Renegade and NaBodach, all of which went on to popular and critical acclaim.

A well seasoned performer, Morgan also has had a hand in several movie soundtracks and has been played on radio and television.

Morgan’s latest work, “Driftwood,” has received accolades on both sides of the Atlantic and has been played on “Thistle & Shamrock.”
