New Hope Historical Society receives grant for video series

Posted
The New Hope Historical Society has received a Bucks County Tourism Grant in the amount of $3,000 from Visit Bucks County to help with the continuation of the production of the Historical Society’s popular “Did You Know?” video documentaries.

In announcing the receipt of the grant, Frank Policare, society president, noted that 18 videos have been produced by the society in conjunction with Push Pull Factory of Bucks County since 2018.

“We have been truly pleased to see that our documentaries featuring some of New Hope’s most historic places have been viewed by more than 30,000 people from various parts of the world to date,” said Policare.

“They have included the Bucks County Playhouse, the Logan Inn, the Dahlgren Cannon, the Landing (former site of the shad fishery), the Delaware House (now Starbucks) and many more. We have also expanded our outreach to include about 75,000 Facebook accounts and more than 800 Instagram accounts,” he added.

The matching grant will enable the Historical Society to produce an additional 10 videos beginning this fall.

Video documentaries may be viewed on the New Hope Historical Society’s website at newhopehs.org.
