The New Hope Celebrates Pride Pageant returned to the stage March 25 at the Bucks County Playhouse.
Drag queens, and for the first time ever, drag kings, competed for the title of Miss and Mr. New Hope Celebrates. Contestants competed in several categories including talent, formal wear and an onstage Q&A.
Phoebe Mantrappe captured the Miss New Hope Celebrates crown and Amita Lady won Mr. New Hope Celebrates.
Members of the judging panel included drag performers Miss Pumpkin, Victoria Lace and Morgan Kennedy; Bruce Burns, nurse manager for surgical services for Capital Health; Katrina Stier, director of marketing and public relations for Capital Health; and Dan Brooks, founder of New Hope Celebrates.
This year, the Mistress of Ceremonies was Marti Gould Cummings, a NYC drag artist who was one of two drag performers who attended President Joe Biden’s signing of the Respect for Marriage Act in December 2022.
