The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said Thursday, that construction has been completed several months ahead of schedule on a project to improve pedestrian safety on a nearly 1-mile-long section of New Falls Road in Bristol and Middletown townships.
Work began in April 2022 to construct sidewalks alongside this nearly one-mile-long section of New Falls Road. Additional improvements included installing crosswalk pavement markings to delineate pedestrian routes along the corridor; installing pedestrian signal equipment in conjunction with ADA curb ramps to further enhance pedestrian safety; and adding protected left-turn traffic signals to improve motorist safety.
Marino Corporation of Skippack, Montgomery County, was the general contractor on the $2.1 million project, which was financed with 100% federal funds.
