Nancy Jaycox Compton passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at the age of 82 in Doylestown, Pa.

She is survived by her loving husband Raymond Tyler Compton; beloved children Randy Compton and his wife Lori, Beth Compton Niebling and her husband Wally and cherished grandchildren Taylor, Brady, Hannah and Reid. Nancy was born on April 8, 1941, in Yonkers, N.Y. She was raised in Summit, New Jersey, and attended Kean University. In the summer of 1963 while visiting a friend at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, she met her future husband Ty. They were married July 11, 1964 at the Summit Methodist Church in New Jersey. Nancy taught kindergarten until becoming a mother to her children Randy and Beth. Nancy loved her family life in their home in Chatham, New Jersey. She had a true knack for decorating and friends would often ask for her advice. She enjoyed shopping, garage sales, playing paddle tennis at the Minisink swim club and road trips to visit Lancaster county.

They eventually retired to Doylestown Pennsylvania, enjoying the surrounding wildlife on the Neshaminy Creek in their townhome at The Greens of Doylestown before making one last move to Pine Run Retirement Community. For fun, Nancy and Ty took many trips, exploring throughout Bucks County. Additionally, she swam at the Health and Wellness Center in Warrington, and made many friends there; sometimes doing more chatting than swimming. She adored her grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Brady and Reid who affectionately called her Gigi.

Nancy’s family will be holding a private Celebration of Life in her honor. They will gather to remember her vibrant spirit, her infectious laughter, and the impact she had on the lives of those around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Nancy’s memory. She had a deep love for animals especially her golden retriever Barney and believed in their welfare and protection.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
