My open letter to Pennridge School Board

Posted

I’m sad that you have turned Pennridge into your fiefdom.

You have created and made changes to policies like the bathroom, advocacy, and other controversial issues. You have crafted a library policy that puts librarians in challenging situations and shadow-bans books.

You have caused teachers, administrative staff, support staff, bus drivers, and other miscellaneous staff to leave sooner than they intended.

You have shown contempt for the administration, teachers, students, parents and taxpayers.

You have belittled educators and staff as they perform the tasks you require of them.

You have shouted down each other and members of the public. You have mocked comments they made. You have made changes to credit requirements under the guise of benefiting tech students, which by accounts from people who know what’s going on, was unnecessary.

You have hidden things from each other and the public. You hired someone to combat the negative publicity that you created. You have pulled this district into multiple lawsuits. You have directed taxpayer money to district solicitors to fight these lawsuits, attend a disproportionate number of executive sessions, and review your policy changes ad nauseam.

You have decided that it is your job to make our children patriotic as you define it.

And the one that I find the most unforgivable at this moment, you hired Jordan Adams using a sketchy contract, ignored the pleas of students, teachers, parents, and community members, and allowed him access to all curricula, not just social studies. Then you sat and listened to his abysmal presentation that lacked any evidence of original thought or even preparation, listened as Mrs. Sarah Raber and Mrs. Jenna Vitale pointed out exactly where and how many times his curriculum plan failed, then still voted to continue his contract. You are destroying our school district.
