Music in the Park

Posted

On Sunday, September 19th at Peace Valley Park, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County (BBBSBC) will be partnering with several local non-profit organizations to host a free community event for all ages! Guests are welcome to come out to our first annual, Music in the Park Event from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m, where they can enjoy LIVE music from local cover artists, Cara Cartney and Barefoot Bobby, with a special appearance from the School of Rock in Doylestown House Band. Enjoy music from as early as the 1930’s to today, and be sure to dress for the occasion! Our performers will cover every genre, and play hits that everyone is sure to jam out to!

This is a special event, as it will help to raise awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters, as well as other local non-profit organizations such as:
•A Woman's Place - a nonprofit that's committed to empowering women, and ending intimate and domestic violence.
•NOVA - a nonprofit that supports, counsels and empowers victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes in Bucks County and works to prevent and eliminate violence in society through advocacy, training, community education and prevention programs.
•R.J. Leonard Foundation - a nonprofit that educates, initiates careers and personally mentor young adults who are aging out of the foster care system.

•Kiwanis of Central Bucks - a nonprofit of volunteers that are dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.
•United Way - works together with other nonprofits to promote the common good, and create a better life for all.
•Children of God Educational Services - their mission is to foster a love of learning for each student, and to respect the uniqueness of all.

Come to find out more about the great work that each of these organizations do, and learn more about the resources that are available right here in our community. Each charity will have games and light refreshments for the whole family, as well as representatives that can answer any questions. This is a picnic style – bring your own snacks – event. So, come on out and relax while you listen to some good tunes, and support amazing missions.
