Multimedia exhibition at Hicks Gallery delves into digital

Posted

Hicks Art Center Gallery at Bucks County Community College kicks off the fall term with “me/dee/ai/shuns,” a new multi-media exhibition featuring seven contemporary artists’ works in video, installation and assemblage.

In each of their solo and collaborative practices, the artists confront phenomenology, emotional mathematics, trauma memory, privacy, cultural colonialism, tech access and painting futurism in digital media, installation, sculpture and collage while expressing their views, concerns and activism.

Participating artists include: Joy Feasley, Glenndon Hyde, Cole M. James, Casey Kauffmann, Joseph Lazaro Rodriguez, Dan Taulapapa McMullin and Chris Trueman.

The exhibition runs from Aug. 24 - Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, at the gallery on the community college campus, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown.

The public is invited to attend Artist Talks with Kauffmann on Aug. 31 and Rodriguez Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. via Zoom and broadcast in person from the gallery. An opening reception will be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 7, with refreshments. All programs are free and open to the public.
