Morven Museum & Garden hosts Day of Remembrance

Flag historian and collector J. Richard Pierce will join Morven Museum & Garden, 55 Stockton St., Princeton, N.J., at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 to remember and pay tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11 with a special program, "9/11 Day of Remembrance: The History of the American Flag."

Pierce will discuss the evolution of the flag from its beginning until present day and speak to the many meanings the flag holds for generations of Americans. His talk will chronicle the growth of the nation through the prism of the national flag and recount stories that are part of the flag’s history.

Doors open for this free in-person event at 1:30 p.m. in the Stockton Education Center at Morven. Tickets to visit the museum and the “Ma Bell: The Mother of Invention in New Jersey” exhibition can be purchased in the museum shop or online.
