Michener Art Museum adds evening hours, private viewing times, in-person programming

Posted

The Michener Art Museum invites audiences from far and wide to see the museum in a new light beginning Oct. 1.

The Michener is adding later hours on Thursdays, staying open until 8 p.m. for “After Dark.” The evenings are designed for all to enjoy, whether it be a date night or a family fun outing.

The Terrace Café will re-open and visitors will be able to purchase pre-packaged meals and dine inside or in the outdoor Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden.

Children can explore the galleries with Art Discovery tote bags, full of fun activities, available for purchase at the Museum Shop. Additionally, the museum will open early on Sundays for special members-only hours from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Michener is also introducing a new program called Private Eyes, offering the ability to rent the entire museum for two-hour bookings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with only the museum staff present. The Michener is following local government and CDC recommendations for COVID-19 safety measures and capacity limits. All interested parties should call for details.

Today through Jan. 15, the museum will be open Thursday through Sunday.

The museum also welcomes the community back for some in-person programs, such as intimate musical performances within its historic courtyard. For information, and to purchase timed tickets, visit MichenerArtMuseum.org or call 215-340-9800.
