Meet musicians at Children’s Concert-in-the-Round

Posted

Children ages 4 to 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy the world of Baroque chamber music at the Lenape Chamber Ensemble’s “Concert in the Round” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Life Sciences Building auditorium at Delaware Valley University, 700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown.

The celebrated chamber musicians who will perform Baroque favorites on Friday night, Nov. 10, at the adult concert in Upper Black Eddy, will bring to the children excerpts from the program of Naudot, Bach, Braun and Rameau for flute, violins, viola, cello, bass and harpsichord.

Performers are from top New York performing groups, including the American Symphony, the New York City Ballet Orchestra, the American Ballet Theater Orchestra, the Northeastern PA Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic. They will entertain the children during the question and answer session.

Lionel Party who has been heard many times as harpsichord soloist with the New York Philharmonic will demonstrate his skill with Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto” cadenza for solo harpsichord. Flutist Anthony Trionfo won first prize at the 2016 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and performs as soloist. Then the children may come on stage to view the instruments and chat with the musicians. The moderator for the 45-minute program will be Violinist Cyrus Beroukhim, associate professor at New York University.

Admission is $2 for each child at the door. Parents and adults accompanying the children will be admitted free. For information, call 610-294-9361 or visit lenapechamberensemble.org.
