Mary J. Hewlett of Perkasie, Pa., passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023. She was 77.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late John and Mildred (Hanlon) Gloss, Mary resided in Plumsteadville and Sellersville, Pa., before moving to Perkasie in 2003.
Mary began an extended career in nursing beginning at D.T. Watson home in Pittsburgh, Pa., and continued caring for family and friends throughout her retirement. Mary was caring and kind and a truly selfless person. She whole-heartedly loved her family and friends. She also appreciated exploring Peddler’s Village and seeking unique gifts and collectibles to share with others from many of the places she visited.
She was the beloved wife of the late David J. Hewlett; dear sister of the late Mildred Johnston and husband William, Patricia Ackerman and husband James; loving aunt of Maryellen Esposito and late husband Martin, Kevin Johnston and wife Lynne, William Johnston and wife Linda, Richard Johnston and wife Louise, Daniel Johnston and wife Hillary, Beth Packert and husband Kenneth, James Ackerman and wife Susan, Christine Snider and late husband James, Catherine Sobieralski and husband Raymond, Constance Glorioso and husband Robert, John Ackerman and wife Lisa; also survived by many grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held privately in early 2024. Interment will be held in spring of 2024 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Canonsburg, Pa.
