Mary C. Bonner

Mary C. Bonner of Pipersville, Pa., died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Born in Germantown, Pa., she resided in Warrington, Pa., before moving to Pipersville, Pa.

Mary received a bachelor’s degree in English from Gwynedd Mercy University and master’s degree in English from Villanova University. She was a dedicated educator who spent over 50 years of her professional life as an English teacher, Chairwoman, administrator, and professor. Mary taught every grade from first to senior year of college. Among the schools where she taught were Archbishop Wood; Adjunct Faculty of LaSalle University and in retirement taught at Montgomery County Community College. She was a member of Lambda Iota Tau and Delta Kappa Gamma.

Mary had many interests, among them were piano, art and books. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

Daughter of the late Christine (Ferri) and Joseph Fanelli, stepdaughter of the late Sante Gabage; Mary was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Jack Bonner; devoted mother of Lynne Appino and husband Garry, and the late Brian Bonner who is survived by his wife Karen; loving grandmother of Michael Appino (Tanya) and Christine Appino (Sam); dear sister of Robert Gabage (Phyllis); also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends and family members at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901 on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass to begin at 10:30 a.m.

Cremation services were private.
