Margaret A. Trouts

Margaret A. “Peg” Trouts, 87, of Ottsville, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at The Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, Pa.

She was born March 1, 1936 in Milford, N.J., and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Breiner Phillips.

Peg was a 1953 graduate of Palisades High School. After high school she worked as a secretary for Good Brothers Garage in Ottsville for about 12 years until she married Robert Trouts. She and Bob co-owned and operated the Brenda Jane Sell-It Shop at The Harrow. Peg had served on the election board for Nockamixon Township and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Ottsville. She grew a large vegetable garden, which helped to provide meals for her family. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating and crocheting. Peg loved spending time with her sisters at the shore and at the Trouts farm in Susquehanna County.

She is survived by three sisters, Diane Getty (Charles), Mary Wambold and Virginia Detweiler (Kenneth), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda, who died in 1990, her husband Robert who died in 2019 and four brothers, Harold, Edward, Richard and Robert Phillips.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4050 Durham Road, Ottsville, Pa. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. There will be no calling time/viewing.
