Mail thefts under investigation

Posted

The Doylestown Township Police Department is investigating several instances of mail theft, which occurred within the Doylestown Estates section of the Township, on April 7.

The suspect vehicle appears to be a dark colored BMW, with heavy window tint and dark rims. The police department is requesting the public’s help with identifying the vehicle’s owner, or anyone who may be involved with the thefts. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department at 215-348-4201, or submit a tip anonymously via CrimeWatch.

Additionally, the department would like to educate residents on the ongoing rash of recent mail thefts. Thieves commonly steal envelopes containing gift cards, checks, or other forms of currency, which are commonly left in a curb side mailbox or free-standing blue mailbox. It is recommended that all sensitive mail be hand delivered to a post office employee.
