Posted

The Washington Crossing Chapter Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) awarded the SAR War Service Medal to compatriot Kevin Treiber of Yardley.

The award is given in grateful recognition for service to the armed forces during an armed conflict. The medal with a Southwest Asia Service bar and certificate were awarded by Chapter Veteran Committee Chairman Bill Hampton at a dinner meeting at the Continental Tavern in Yardley on Feb. 13.

Treiber was recognized specifically for his honorable service in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm. Treiber served as a jump-qualified combat medic and was awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal. Treiber served for two tours in the Persian Gulf War, performing critical medevac duties. He served in active duty from 1989-1993 and in the Reserves from 1993-1997.
