Local author to appear at Bucks County Community College

Posted

Bucks County resident and award-winning author John A McCabe will present “War Stories & Life: Transformation Through Education,” an examination of how Bucks County Community College helped him develop his craft and set the stage for becoming a successful author.

Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend this free, one-hour event in Tyler Hall – 142 at the Newtown Campus of the College at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Author editions of his two novels will be available for sale.

McCabe said he started taking courses as an adult at Bucks and eventually graduated in 1987.

“I guess I’m a late bloomer turning out two books in 2022. But then again, what can you expect from a guy who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania at age 73? I am so blessed and privileged to have had the Bucks experience throughout my entire adult life. I want to encourage today’s students to pursue their dreams; take advantage of the educational opportunities and the outstanding support of the faculty and staff at Bucks.”

McCabe’s two novels, ” Girl In Japan: A Young Soldier’s Story” and “Tracks Through Our Lives: The Transformation of Danny Fisher” are published by Assiduous Way. They are available worldwide as a paperback from independent bookstores and online booksellers. Hardback and eBook format are also available: visit AssiduousWay.com for details. His next novel is expected to be released this summer.
