Lenape Chamber Ensemble reopens Fall Concert Series

Posted

Lenape Chamber Ensemble is ready to reopen its 47th season of fall concerts in Bucks County for the first time since the pandemic struck in 2019.
The concert at the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church in Upper Black Eddy begins at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, with the program repeated in Doylestown at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at Delaware Valley University’s Life Sciences building auditorium.
The concert will include Mozart’s “Violin Sonata in A Major,” which gives equal emphasis to both violin and piano, performed by violist Cyrus Beroukhim and pianist Marcantonio Barone.
“The String Trio for violin, viola and cello,” a rollicking 1920s-style piece written in 1933 by the French composer Jean Françaix, which highlights the combined talents of violinist Cyrus Beroukhim along with violist Brett Deubner and cellist Alberto Parrini.

The concert’s concluding selection is the “Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 13,” composed by Richard Strauss when he was just 20 years old. Deubner, Parrini and Barone return to the stage, with the addition of violinist Emily Daggett-Smith.
Next month, Lenape audiences can attend the ensemble’s Baroque Fest, scheduled for 8:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, in Upper Black Eddy and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 in Doylestown.
Following the concerts, members of the audience may meet and chat with the musicians. Following CDC guidelines, masks will be required at both locations.
Tickets at $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students are available at the door, at lenapechamberensemble.org or at 610-294-9361. All concerts are supported by a grant from Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts, part of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
