Lambertville library slates free Job Search Workshop

Lambertville Free Public Library will host a free Job Search Workshop 7 p.m. May 12.

Larry Finkelstein, president of Transition Management Associates (TMA), a human resource consulting firm and the organizer of The Lambertville New Hope Activities Meetup, will lead the workshop.

The workshop is for people who are considering a career/job change or who are looking to enhance their job search skills. Finkelstein provides career transition consulting (assessments, career development, mentoring, succession planning and outplacement) to corporate clients and he coaches individuals who are seeking employment. Finkelstein has provided consulting in career development and mentoring to the New Jersey State Departments of Labor, Education and State, The New Jersey Business and Industry Association, The New Jersey Food Council many Chambers of Commerce and several national associations. He has taught career courses at The College of New Jersey, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Rider University.

Finkelstein is the author of “and then I painted the garage,” a book that focuses on making the right career choice and how to conduct a successful job search.

Several years ago, he ran a series of workshops at the library but stopped when all the participants got a job.

Prior to TMA, he worked as a vice president at Right Associates, the world’s largest career transition firm.

Finkelstein is also a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice who worked for Rutgers Medical School and Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey.
