Lambertville hydrogeologist to lead water cooperation webinar

Vincent Uhl of Uhl and Associates, based in Lambertville, N.J., will moderate a webinar of international hydrogeologists and water management officials focused on the Nile River Basin.
The webinar, which features five panelists and a Q&A session, begins at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16.
According to Global Water Alliance, a Philadelphia-based NGO, panelists will discuss past Nile water cooperation agreements in 1929 and 1959, as well as the more recent Nile Basin Initiative and the Cooperative Framework Agreement, which outlines the principles, rights and obligations for cooperative management and development of the basin’s water resources.

The speakers will also cover the development of water initiatives, solutions for political and climate change issues, and other topics.
The 90-minute webinar features Lange Schermerhorn, the former ambassador to Djibouti; Dr. Hani Sewilam, professor of Water Resources Management and Rector’s Delegate RWTH Aachen University in Germany; Dr. Seifu Kebede, professor of Hydrogeology at University of KwaZulu in South Africa; and Dr. David Kreamer, professor of Hydrogeology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and president of the International Association of Hydrogeologists.
