Posted

La Fiocco, the Bucks County-based baroque music ensemble has announced its upcoming concert season, which includes four concerts at Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury, performed on period instruments.

The opening concert, “La Fête Galante,” is a program of French chamber music from the age of Louis XV, including works by Rameau, Couperin, and Marais, and featuring Eve Friedman, baroque flute, Sarah Davol, baroque oboe, Nathan Bishop and Jimmy Drancsek, baroque violin, Donna Fournier and Vivian Barton Dozor, viola da gamba and baroque cello, Jorge Torres, theorbo and baroque guitar, and artistic director Lewis R. Baratz, harpsichord.

The concert will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. Tickets are $25 general admission, $10 students, free for children 12 and under, at the door (cash or check), or online by credit card.

The season continues with a holiday concert on Friday, Dec. 15, that has become an annual tradition. Then, due to the popularity of last season’s program, “The Fiddler’s Dance,” La Fiocco will resume its exploration of folk and dance music for fiddles with “The Fiddler’s Return,” on Sunday, March 9. The final concert of the season, “Purcell’s London,” on Sunday, June 4, will feature frequent La Fiocco guest artist Laura Heimes. Details of all concerts and ticket information will be posted at lafiocco.org.
