Kehilat HaNahar makes $17,500 in Hanukkah donations to community

Posted

As a result of its just-competed Hanukkah Drive, Kehilat HaNahar, The Little Shul by the River in New Hope, has donated over $17,500 to three local organizations serving the needy – the Delaware Valley Food Pantry, Fisherman’s Mark, and Norwescap.
All three organizations are helping families who were displaced by the ravages of Hurricane Ida and the pandemic by tending to their current and immediate needs and helping them, when possible, move into more permanent housing.
The drive was initiated by a gift from KHN members Steven and Ricki Fisher of New Hope.

Kehilat HaNahar is a Reconstructionist synagogue that supports the Jewish values of justice, loving kindness, and feeding the hungry in number of ways.
In addition to raising funds for the Hanukkah Drive, KHN also is working with the Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement by contributing funds and volunteering to support the group’s efforts to supporting an Afghan family resettling in Bucks County.
