Joseph A. Parker Jr.

Joseph A. Parker Jr. of Doylestown passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023. He was 84. He was the beloved husband of Karen Wickel Parker for 21 years.

Joe was born on March 19, 1939 in Philadelphia to the late Joseph A. Sr. and Muriel Fletcher Parker. He grew up in Philadelphia where he graduated from Germantown High School, class of ’57. He was on their basketball team and played for a local church team. Several years later, Joe went into the Army where he also played basketball and trained to be a medic. After his stint in the Army, Joe started working at the A&P, which later became Super Fresh. His career there lasted 46 years. During this time, he raised a family, joined the Lions Club and was a member of a bowling league. After retirement, Joe enjoyed working on his investment properties, gardening, shopping and traveling.

Along with his wife, Karen, Joe is survived by his children, Tina Marie Bria of Roslyn, Pa., Chris Parker of Biglerville, Pa.; two step-children, Annie Hasiak and her husband, Dan Root of Billings, Mont., Cory Hasiak and his wife, Heather of Billings, Mont.; 11 grandchildren, as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Parker and Carol Trainor.

A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 2631 Durham Road (Routes 413 and 202), Buckingham, PA 18912. Internment will take place privately, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to Trinity Episcopal Church at Buckingham, 2631 Durham Road, Buckingham, PA 18912 or Doylestown Hospital, 595 W. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
