Jerry Cable hosts annual Holiday Open House

Posted

Jerry Cable unveils his annual Holiday Open House exhibition at the historic Prallsville General Store, 26 Risler St. (N.J. Route 29) Stockton, N.J. (next door to his former studio, opposite the Prallsville Mills).

The public is invited to celebrate the season over two weekends – Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, as well as Dec. 7 and 8 – both from 1 to 4 p.m. daily.

The exhibition includes Cable’s traditional subjects of serene Bucks County landscapes, portraits of wooly sheep and belted cows, and vintage toys, along with some seasonal holiday images.

These recent oil paintings are set off in the spacious setting of the 18th-century former Prallsville General Store and Post Office, now a private residence. Cable’s Holiday Cards and select prints will also be available.

Fresh off his Judges’ Prize at the “The Art of Time” exhibit this year in Princeton, N.J., Cable showcases his new body of work, particularly the vintage toys series, which “captures the imagination of both young and old, evoking joyful childhood memories,” he said.

Two concurrent events at Prallsville Mills these two weekends are the Christmas Party at the Mill Dec. 1, and Crafts Show at the Mill Dec. 7 and 8.

Cable, a Bucks County painter, has won numerous awards and has exhibited in more than 50 juried exhibitions, including The Philadelphia Sketch Club and The National Art Club of New York City, along with more than 35 solo exhibitions in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Maine, Connecticut and Ohio.
