Jasper String Quartet will perform at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, for the Delaware Valley Music Club’s members, guests and visitors at their gala concert and reception at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road (Route 263), in Solebury Township.

The concert will follow a morning performance at the Holicong Middle School in Buckingham Township, sponsored by the club’s Marie Paxson Fund.

Winner of the CMA Cleveland Quartet Award, the Jasper String Quartet is the Professional Quartet-in-Residence at Temple University’s Center for gifted young musicians. Members of the quartet are violinists J. Freivogel and Karen Kim; violist Sam Quintal, and cellist Rachel Henderson Freivogel.

The Marie Paxson Fund, founded in memory of a longstanding and active member, Marie Paxson, also awards cash prizes to winners of the Bucks County Symphony Youth Competition, and features them at the Music Club’s March Young People’s Concert.

Music Club members attend the afternoon concert at no charge; there is a $10 fee for guests and the general public.
