Jackson L. Wenhold, of Perkasie, passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022. He was 92.

He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Smith) Wenhold for 62 years until her death in 2015.

Born in East Rockhill Township, he was one of 12 children born to Samuel K. and Laura (Kehs) Wenhold. Jackson was a 1950 graduate of Quakertown High School and Quakertown Industrial Vocational Educational School.

Mr. Wenhold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Jackson worked many kinds of jobs, plowing snow, hauling milk, farming and also working for various local building contractors. Always a master carpenter and woodworking craftsman, Jackson established Wenhold Builders Inc., Quakertown in 1974, the firm primarily staffed by Jack and his son, Craig. Never really retiring, Jack continued to advise others until very recently.

A long-time active member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, Jackson had helped to build the church, designed and crafted the altar crosses for the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, served on Church Council and the Property Committee, and taught Sunday School.

Mr. Wenhold had also served on the Upper Bucks Vocational School Board for many years.

Jackson had enjoyed gardening, hunting, snowmobiling and collecting both vintage and new tools. He especially loved time spent with his family, reunions and reminiscing with friends and relatives. Most recently, he had delighted in time spent with his great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wenhold is survived by his daughter, Michele Krout, and her husband, Ron, of Perkasie; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Wenhold, and her fiancé, Ron Snyder, of Warminster; three grandchildren: Lauren Kershes and her husband, Matt, of Quakertown, Lisa Landis and her husband, Ian, of Jackson, Wyo., and Ryan Krout, of Sellersville; five great-grandchildren: Bella, Lucas, Julia, Benjamin and Kaiya.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Craig Wenhold, in 2018, 10 brothers, and one sister.

His memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Ave., Perkasie, PA 18944.

Interment will be private in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
