Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant opens in Newtown

Posted

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant opened the doors to its 17th overall location at 2920 S. Eagle Road in Newtown.

Iron Hill Newtown saw significant opening and construction setbacks due to the global outbreak of COVID-19 and subsequent business shutdowns. In accordance with Gov. Tom Wolf’s legislation regarding business regulations in yellow phase counties, Iron Hill Newtown was granted allowance to open with outdoor seating, curbside pickup, takeout and delivery.

Iron Hill Newtown was announced in May 2019 as a collaboration with the Brixmor Property Group, which has spearheaded the renovation of the Village at Newtown Shopping Center. The 7,500-square-foot space will be in the L-shaped addition along West Road. Iron Hill Newtown will feature the group’s signature on-site brewing facility as well as seating for approximately 350 including a bar area, dining room and outdoor dining. The outdoor dining space will have the capacity to seat 100, and the brewery and restaurant has begun the application process to extend permits to allow more outdoor seating.

“Due to the government shutdowns caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, Iron Hill has had to significantly adapt to the circumstances, and we have seen an enormous outpouring of support from our loyal communities. Iron Hill Newtown’s opening is a testament to this support, as well as the teamwork shown by our staff in the past few months,” said Iron Hill CEO Kim Boerema. “The disruptions were a huge blow to the restaurant industry as a whole, and we are very fortunate to open a new location in this uncertain climate. For this, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our staff and loyal guests for supporting us during this time.”
