In Harmony: Youth Orchestra of Bucks County

Posted

The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County’s annual benefit drew YOBC musicians, supporters and friends to Philmont Country Club on Feb. 25.

Students, parents, alumni, staff, board members, donors and volunteers worked “In Harmony” to make the fundraiser a night to remember and one that provided essential support for its mission.

According to its website — yobc.org — the Youth Orchestra provides about 300 students in grades 4 through 12 with advanced musical training to enhance and supplement what the young people are receiving through their school music programs.

The In Harmony benefit included a cocktail hour that featured a performance by YOBC Honor Strings, dinner, followed by more live music from YOBC alumni, current strings students, and a trumpet ensemble from the youth orchestra’s Students-in-Concert program. Students-in-Concert is YOBC’s tuition-free music program for students in the Morrisville and Bristol Township school districts.

The night also featured music from The Straight Ahead Big Band and a silent auction.
