Hopewell Theater expands live stage performance roster

In 2019 Hopewell Theater will expand its roster of live stage performances with the scheduling of Bright Star Children’s Theatre: “Cinderella” and “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Love is Strange,” “Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and my Mother with Jamie Brickhouse,” “Italian Bred: One Woman Show with Candice Guardino,” and Bread and Puppet Theater’s “Diagonal Man: Theory & Practice.”

One of the largest professional touring theater companies in the country, Bright Star Children’s Theatre brings literature to life in a fun and interactive way at Hopewell Theater at noon Saturday, Feb. 2, when “Cinderella” and “Jack and the Beanstalk” are told in the high-energy, comedic production.

“Love is Strange,” six original one-act live play readings, takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Playwrights are Jonathan Chiccino, Joanne Eisenberg, Meghan Malloy, Jennifer Nelson and Susan Sandor. The director is Joey Perillo.

“Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and my Mother with Jamie Brickhouse” will hit the stage at 8 p.m. Friday, March 22. “Italian Bred: One Woman Show with Candice Guardino” plus Supper Club is set for 8 p.m. Friday, April 26. Bread and Puppet Theater’s “Diagonal Man: Theory & Practice” will be performed at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9.
